ABOUT THE INITIATOR

Bukola Adedeji is a breast support expert, body image consultant, and founder of TheBraGirl, a specialty lingerie brand redefining how women experience their bodies through expert breast support and specialty lingerie styling. With over 18 years of combined experience in styling, body image, and bra fitting - including certification as a post-surgery and mastectomy fitter - she has helped thousands of women navigate body changes with greater comfort, confidence, and dignity. Her passion for this work stems from her own personal journey and was further shaped by years of working closely with women throughout her careers in couture dressmaking and specialty bra fitting. Those experiences revealed a much deeper truth that breast support, far more than lingerie, is a powerful contributor to a woman's health, confidence and quality of life. Bukola holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry and has completed executive business training, including Entrepreneurship Essentials from Harvard Business School Online. She is also a certified post-surgery and mastectomy fitter with Anita Canada, one of the world's leading providers of post-surgical breast care solutions. Her professional journey spans banking, fashion and entrepreneurship giving her a unique multidisciplinary perspective on the intersection of breast support, body confidence, and everyday living. From TheBraGirl's specialty boutique in downtown Calgary, Bukola leads a team of certified lingerie stylists while advancing research-informed conversations on breast support, establishing it as an essential component of women's wellbeing across every stage of life. Through The Bra Talk, Bukola is on a mission to ensure that no woman is limited by preventable discomfort, poor breast support, or diminished body confidence. Her vision is to empower women with the knowledge and tools to live healthier, more confident, and more productive lives.

INNOVATIVE RESEARCH & PARTNERSHIP

In a groundbreaking move in 2025, TheBraGirl, in partnership with Bow Valley College and with support from MITACS, embarked on an academic research project exploring the impact of breast support on the physical activity of teen girls, focusing initially on Black immigrant families through the perspectives of parents. By bringing together academic research and real-world expertise gained from thousands of bra fittings, this pioneering study is reshaping conversations around breast support - not as a fashion concern, but as an important contributor to women's health, confidence, participation, and quality of life. The insights from this research continue to inform The Bra Talk, equipping women, parents, educators, healthcare professionals, employers, and community leaders with practical knowledge to make informed decisions and advocate for better breast support at every stage of a woman's life. Grounded in evidence and practical experience, The Bra Talk transforms research into meaningful conversations and actionable solutions that improve women's everyday lives.
